Detail
Description
While the Gibson Trad Pro V electric guitar shares many characteristics with a classic Les Paul, it’s an instrument that’s all its own. Featuring a mahogany body and neck with a carved maple top—just like the Les Paul—the Gibson Trad Pro V also has a weight-relieved body, making it super comfortable to play and hold. You’ll be able to sling it on your shoulder with ease. The neck also has an asymmetrical shape that fits in your hand like a glove. With the compound radius on the rosewood fretboard, you’ll find it easier to land those solos in higher registers. Feel and hear the difference with the Gibson Trad Pro V electric guitar.
Weight-Relieved Mahogany Body
One of the most attractive benefits of the Gibson Trad Pro V electric guitar is its weight-relieved body. This design makes it super comfortable to play and sling over your shoulder.
Tradbucker Pickups Pack a Punch
The Gibson Trad Pro V is loaded with a pair of Tradbucker pickups that really pack a punch. In the neck position, the humbucker is underwound, which produces a warm and organic sound. In contrast, the pickup in the bridge position is overwound, which increases the output. With accompanying Alnico V magnets and a push/pull function that performs a coil split or a coil tap, you can tweak your tones to your heart’s desire. When you’re in coil-split mode, the treble tone push/pull toggles between the inner and outer coils. Alternatively, the rhythm tone push/pull will activate a phase switch—ideal when your tone pool is filled with deep British blues.
Comfortable Playability
Adding to its easy playability is the neck, which has an asymmetrical shape so it fits like a glove in your hand. The compound radius rosewood fretboard also makes it easier to solo in higher registers. A hardshell case is included.

After 20 years of playing, I finally got the guitar that was missing from my collection, a Gibson Les Paul. Got it at the Guitar-a-Thon sale in June of 24. Played a few different LP models, from the Tribute to the Standards from the 50's and 60's. Personally I like the Traditional Pro V and the Standard 60's the best in terms of feel, sound, and looks. When I saw the Traditional Pro V on sale, I immediately bought it and jumped at the chance since it was a lot cheaper than the Standards. I wondered if I would regret not getting a Standard, but I definitely didn't... This Traditional Pro V is a perfect fit. Everything about it is perfect. It's beautiful (satin ice tea color), the asymmetrical neck feels awesome, is a joy to play, and the Traditional pickups sound amazing through my crate half stack and EVH 5150 combo. I play mostly classic rock, new rock (2000's), blues, and country, and this guitar goes great with all of it. I also have a '03 fender standard strat, '23 fender Nashville tele, and a '05 Gibson SG faded. I like them all for different reasons. If you're looking for an LP, I definitely recommend this one. I love it!!!

I received the guitar today. It arrived in a black case instead of the usual brown Gibson. The neck is very bowed. It looks like it sat on a shelf drying out for years. I have never received a Gibson in worse shape. I will test it later and decide if it is worth getting a professional setup. If the electronics function correctly and a setup is warranted, it will need a few weeks with a hydro system first. I usually buy guitars from a different retailer that specializes in taking care of the instrument before delivering to a customer. GC appears to not care about the customer experience. I am let down again.

For starters, Gibson has always boasted a high price tag. You either hate that on principle or abide by it. I've been waiting to own a Les Paul since I was 16 years old, and when I finally stumbled upon the Trad Pro, I was hooked on what it had to offer. The amount of tonal dexterity and versatility this Les Paul offers, plus the fact I bought this on sale, I felt like I walked away with a steal. The Tradbuckers are amazing, and considering you can't acquire these over the counter, it gave this instrument added appeal. I've always stayed away from gloss neck guitars, and have been wary of satin finishes from what I have read online, but after seeing this guitar and playing it for a while, I was sold on how it felt in hand. I couldn't find many pictures of the Desert Burst variant, so it was a bit of a gamble for me when I opted to order this online, but I was BEYOND thrilled with how gorgeous this top was, with the subtle wood grain peeking through. Any doubt I had died after purchasing this instrument.
